John Walter Seefurth 6-4-1935 - 6-16-2020 St Charles, IL

John was born and raised in Evanston, served in the Army ’58 -‘60 driving a tank in the 3rd armored division in Germany along with Elvis Presley. (He is holding the picture to prove it!) In 1960 he was sweet on a girl who lived down the road from the gas station he was working at. To get her attention, he sneaked into her car and pulled the spark plug wires and waited for her to call the station for his help. They were married on April 15, 1961 in Wilmette, IL. John worked for Jewel as a butcher for 37 years and spent 50 years in the home they purchased in Streamwood. As his dementia progressed, he moved into his son and daughter in laws home where every day he told them how happy he was and appreciated the help. Athena kept her promise to John’s wife and took excellent care of him until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Marion and his wife of 57 years, Judy (Peterson). He is survived by his sons Mike, Tom (Athena) and Jim Seefurth, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services are private.
