Obituary

Kolick, Cynthia J ., age 61, of Plainfield, IL. Passed on Saturday, December 20, at the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care Inpatient Center, Naperville. She died from late stage Alzheimer's disease. She leaves her beloved husband Alexander L. MacPhail; her loving parents, Nick S. and Flora J. Kolick of Plainfield; a brother, Nick S. Jr. and his wife Lisa of Woodenville, WA; nieces Alexandria, of Seattle, WA and Elizabeth Vestal of Chicago; a nephew, Ryan of Woodenville, WA; stepson Alexander C. MacPhail, and step granddaughter, Peyton, both of Maine.

Ms. Kolick, a Kent State University graduate, who rated "Dean's List" attention while at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, was a professional entertainer and a member of Actors Equity. She appeared in numerous musical stage productions. She was also an outspoken advocate in the fight to find a cure to end Alzheimer's and worked closely with the Illinois chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in media outreach. And, through numerous Chapter events, told of her journey with the disease, bringing hope and clarity to caregivers and those afflicted.
